Sharc® Matter are working with a leading global Tier 1 automotive manufacturer on the testing of two of their Sharc® coatings. The manufacturer is seeking an easy clean coating technology for potential application on to wind screens as well as polypropylene substrates used in automotive manufacturing.

The coatings to be tested include Sharc®Sapphire – a thin, transparent easy-clean coating (10-20 microns), Sapphire has many different applications, including car painted surfaces, glossy metals, hospital surfaces and delivers hydrophobic and oleophobic characteristics.

Sharc® Glass will also be tested a thin, transparent (1-2 microns) easy-clean coating for glass surfaces. It acts to salt and calcium attack on car windows, bathroom glass surfaces and commercial areas with high glass content e.g. spas.

David Hannan CEO commented ‘we are extremely excited about this collaborative opportunity, our suite of Sharc® coatings offer significant benefits to end users seeking protective, easy clean, hydrophobic or indeed oleophobic characteristics. The automotive area is very challenging from a coating perspective; however, we look forward to working with the manufacturer to identify how our coatings can add value and enhance their products.’
